Enhance both the protection and aesthetic of your chimney with our Copper Top Mount Chimney Cap. Built from premium 16-ounce copper, this cap provides a durable, decorative solution that shields your chimney from critters, rain, snow, debris, and wear.
The Hip and Ridge lid features a 6/12 pitch, adding a stylish touch while offering practical protection. It also boasts a 2″ lid overhang extending over the 3/4″ mesh screen. The cap’s lid is removable, making cleaning and maintenance an easy task.
Installation Instructions
Installing the Copper Top Mount Chimney Cap is simple with its flexible design. The cap can be easily mounted to the top of your chimney crown or brick using chimney adhesive and the included masonry screws. It features a stainless steel hinged mounting flange that provides flexibility during installation. The 1.5″ wide hinged flange allows you to position it either inside or outside of the mesh screen.
To install:
- Position the cap at the center of your chimney crown.
- Mark the hole positions (typically 4 – 8 screws needed for average-sized caps).
- Lift the mounting flange, add a bead of silicone underneath, and press it firmly into place.
- Drill holes at the marked spots and secure the cap with masonry screws into the crown.
For a perfect fit, please provide the measurements you want the mesh screen to be fabricated to.

Measuring for Your Copper Chimney Cap
To ensure your chimney cap fits perfectly, use the following guidelines to measure your chimney. Once we have your measurements, we’ll craft the mesh screen accordingly, and the 1.5″ mounting flange will be added.
Important Tips
- We recommend the mesh screen height be at least 6″ higher than the tallest flue tile to allow for proper ventilation. For instance, if your tallest clay flue tile is 6″, your screen height should be at least 12″.
- For outside mount installations, please add at least 1/4″ to both the length and width measurements for a snug fit.
Note: Copper Multi-Flue Chimney Caps are custom-made per order and are non-returnable. The fabrication process takes 2-3 weeks, and soon you’ll have your chimney fully protected.
