Installing your Copper Outside Mount Chimney Cap is a simple and straightforward process with its 3″ vertical skirt, which covers the entire perimeter of the masonry chimney. Here’s how you can install it:
- Apply a bead of silicone to the inner skirt panel of the cap.
- Slide the cap over the chimney.
- Pre-drill the pilot holes through the skirt and into the masonry.
- Secure the cap with the included masonry screws and silicone.
For a typical installation, we recommend using 2-3 masonry screws, spaced evenly along the sides (about 18 to 24 inches apart), depending on the size of the cap.
Your provided measurements will ensure the cap fits perfectly. The 2″ lid overhang on all sides of the mesh screen ensures full coverage and protection.
