Additionally, the vertical skirt includes a drip edge that diverts rainwater, preventing it from running directly down the chimney walls.
For added convenience, the lid of the Copper Outside Mount Chimney Cap is removable, secured with locking nuts. This allows for easy access to the chimney flues, making cleaning and maintenance simple. The cap also boasts a 2″ lid overhang extending over the 3/4″ mesh screen.

Use a drill to pre-drill pilot holes through the skirt and into the chimney, and then secure the cap with masonry screws and silicone. Depending on the cap size, we recommend placing 2-3 masonry screws evenly spaced along the cap’s sides, typically 18 to 24 inches apart.
