Designed for easy installation, this cap features a top mount or outside mount option with a hinged mounting flange. It securely attaches to the chimney crown or brick using chimney adhesive and masonry screws, both of which are included.
The removable lid allows for simple access to your chimney flues, making maintenance hassle-free. The cap includes a 2″ overhang on all sides of the 3/4″ mesh screen for enhanced protection.
Installation
Installing the copper top mount chimney cap is straightforward thanks to its 1.5″ wide stainless steel hinged mounting flange. This versatile flange allows you to easily install the cap and provides flexibility. The hinge lets you position the flange either inside or outside of the mesh screen, depending on your preference.
Installation Steps:
- Position the chimney cap at the center of your chimney crown.
- Mark the hole positions on the base of the cap, typically requiring 4 – 8 screws for an average-sized cap.
- Lift the mounting flange and apply a bead of silicone to the underside.
- Press the flange firmly into the silicone, ensuring a tight seal.
- Drill holes at the marked locations and insert masonry screws into the crown to secure the cap.

To ensure your chimney cap fits seamlessly, follow these measurement guidelines. When you provide your measurements, we will fabricate the mesh screen to those exact dimensions.

- The mesh screen height should be at least 6″ higher than the tallest flue to ensure proper ventilation.
- For outside mount installations, we recommend adding at least 1/4″ to both the length and width measurements for a snug, secure fit.
