The Outside Mount Multi-Flue Chimney Cap with Basic Lid is a reliable, durable stainless steel chimney cap that has been proven to keep your chimney dry and secure. This cap is designed for easy installation and fits securely over your chimney. It can be easily mounted with silicone and masonry screws (which are included).
The cap features a 2″ horizontal skirt, which provides a ledge for the cap to rest securely on the outer edge of the chimney. The 3″ vertical skirt extends down each side of the chimney, allowing for secure attachment. The vertical skirt is equipped with a drip edge to help direct rainwater away from the sides of the chimney, preventing water damage.
The lid of the Outside Mount Multi-Flue Chimney Cap is removable, secured with locking nuts. This allows for easy access when cleaning or maintaining the chimney flues. Additionally, the cap’s lid has a 2″ overhang from the mesh screen, further enhancing its protective function.

Installation
Installing the Outside Mount Stainless Steel Chimney Cap is straightforward. With a 3″ vertical skirt, the cap can be easily installed around the exterior perimeter of the brick chimney. Start by applying a bead of silicone on the inner skirt panel and slide the cap over the chimney. Pre-drill pilot holes through the skirt panel and into the chimney, then secure the cap using masonry screws and silicone. It is recommended to place 2-3 screws evenly spaced along the sides of the cap for secure attachment, with spacing typically 18 to 24 inches between screws.
For a precise fit, provide the exact measurements of your chimney. We will fabricate the cap based on these measurements, ensuring a custom solution. The removable lid makes access for cleaning and maintenance simple, while the 2″ lid overhang ensures additional protection.

Measuring for Your Stainless Steel Chimney Cap: To ensure a perfect fit, follow these measurement guidelines:
- Overall Length of Chimney: Add at least 1/4″ to the exact length measurement.
- Overall Width of Chimney: Add at least 1/4″ to the exact width measurement.
- Screen Height: The screen height should be at least 6″ taller than the tallest flue tile for proper ventilation and protection.
For instance, if the tallest flue tile measures 6″, the screen height should be at least 12″ to ensure proper coverage.
